Where the hell did that come from?
From Gault's preview........."The best bet to take down Hocker? Geordie Beamish."

Great race. Early in season. Cole and Cooper will be hard to beat later in year.
I was more impressed with Mantz in that race than anyone else. Far less than most distances he will be running
yeah hunter did better than i thought he would after the "time trial" video they put out where i thought he looked like s***. that was such a fun race to watch and kudos to beamish. it was cool to see how psyched he was

great run by beamish. ollie and him have just been rolling lately and def at a different part of their build than cooper and cole, but he deserved the win.
wouldnt be surprised if ollie takes the mile too. OAC guys seem to bring fast times year round, but the ceiling is lower imo.
I still think Teare’s best outdoor event is the 1,500 (it would be the 3,000 if it existed). Between him, Hocker, Hoare, Beamish, and Kerr, I would say that 5 out of the top 10 1,500 runners in the world are US based.

So are we going to talk about half marathoner Connor Mantz beating Drew Hunter?? Ouch
No, because Drew has not run well in a long time. This was actually a pretty good result for Hunter
he won two? road races at the end of last year including a win over centro. people were actually high on him coming into this race, but you cant hide on the track. he is doing a really slow build from his last injury tho so i would hope he plans on doing more than 60 miles soon.
Whitaker takes H.S. mile. Top 3 all 4:47
Beamish (25:71) and Teare (26.43) both had a faster last lap than Hocker (26.58). Great race by all of them though! Mantz had the next fastest last lap (27.81).

Mantz runs his balls off (sometimes literally) every single time. He’s a 10K guy or a marathoner all the way though, but that race shows great range.

Front runner for most of the race ate it HARD with a lap to go. Anyone see if she finished / was OK?

Us based is different from US runners though. You're best will magically stop improving now, Teare will do well, none of the others are US runners.
Complete tactical blunder by Teare. He thought he'd one. NZ for the WIN!!!
what a race man. a couple of take aways
1) Cooper focused too much on not getting kicked by Cole. He gave up the inside to Geordie and he knows it.
2) Beamish form gets me hard. Beautiful. And he is an animal.
3) I expected Cole to have a harder kick based on what I’ve seen from previous meetings. But I think the pace was really honest for him to kick as hard as he normally kicks.
4) Beamish and Grijalva with National Records (and PBs)
5) Drew and Parsons both with a PB. This forum will bash on them but they walked away with a PB.
I am a happy man after this race, what can I say.

That can't be true.If only Hocker was closer with a lap to go he'd have win,oh of course he wouldn't,same story as tokyo.
Crouaer. Wow wow wow
Longest throw on history...indoor or out!!!

Just goes to show how weak that US 5k was last year. This was a good result from Hunter, and he lost to Mantz.
I have a feeling Oli hoare is about to upset Kerr
Crouser 23.38 on throw number two for a new "absolute" world record!

I get that, but even if they’re not US runners, a lot of us follow Hoare Beamish, and Kerr pretty closely since they train here.
For US runners though, Hocker and Teare are the two best. I think Centro is done, Engels doesn’t have their speed, and Nugusse seems to be injury-prone.
