That was a great win from Marileidy Paulino, beat Wadeline 50.0x slowing down at the line.

Oh? Did he run a bunch of hard track reps 3 days ago and wreck his quadricep before the biggest race of his life?
Or you’re being obstinate because I threw out 72 hours.
How long have he and his coach known but chose to do the selfish thing?
The irony of your calling ME the obstinate one. You suck as a human.
You don’t know anything about me except the words posted from this account make you feel bad. Shed your tears and move on.
Fck me for wanting to America field a competitive 1500 though right?

Fck you for your baseless assumptions and calling someone whose dreams were just shattered a POS. Nothing to do with your wanting a competitive 1500. You suck as a person, at the most basic level.
I refused to read through the whole list, but did anyone mention that possibility he got hurt during his warmup? I strained a calf muscle while on the track, in my lane for my race while doing a block runout and had to drop.
Injured, tried to rehabilitate but couldn’t. Doesn’t seem selfish or devious to me. I feel bad for the kid and hope he gets another Olympic shot somewhere down the road.
Quad strains aren't particularly common for young milers. Don't have anything to add to that observation-

What’s the point of doing that, for pride? For fake glory? None of us on this thread has been in his position and the fact that many are laying insults on Nuguse without knowing the full story is absolutely pathetic
Every knows why Nuguse is getting this hate. If he was white, everyone would be talking about how sad it was that he couldn't live out his dream of competing at the Olympics.

You’re a troll and none of this is true for even 90th percentile athletes.

Instead of whinging about dreams and character can you or anyone else tell me how much time an athlete has to withdraw from an event before it is scheduled such that another athlete with the standard could fill in?
Engels would have been a non-factor. people need to get over it.

Keep beating that drum.

Would he have been worse than a DNS?
Didn’t think so.
Engels said on the barstool podcast that he has no chance to win let alone medal. I don’t want a guy that doesn’t believe in himself.

If Engels said he was going to medal you'd call him cocky and say you don't want overconfidence. Be honest.
The day Nuguse got hurt, Engels could have been on standby.. what a shame..
Guys Engles doesn't deserve a chance to go. He lost at the trails fair and square and it wasn't even close. In the last month he has had terrible results and probably hasn't been training at a high level. So now you want to send him on a 15+ hour flight with a 16 hour time difference on 48 hours notice just to get embarrassed by other runners? He just got smacked in the US some "B" level 1500 level runners. Get over it. Yared did nothing wrong. He tried his best to make it to the line. You think he wanted to lose out on his dream?

Engels was on Barstool? That alone is disqualifying for me. Hard pass
Cole Hocker really loves the inside lane but he needs to be careful not to get boxed in again. This is the 2nd time I’ve seen him not utilize the full potential of his kick because he’s trapped on the inside. He needs to trust himself to run on the outside and maintain distance with the front pack. I doubt anyone could match him in a final sprint
Yes. I really like Hocker and had nothing like his talent/speed as a 1500m runner but my old school Brit coach would have me on the outside shoulder of the runners ahead and never tight to the rail in traffic. Hoping things open up isn't a winning strategy although Hocker may be both super talented and super lucky. I would like to see Hocker medal.
