Northeastern's avg SAT was between 1360 and 1540. I'd say that's pretty good, considering the US avg is 1060.

Most school's in the CAA have higher academic standards than a good portion of the country. CAA's avg SAT was 1261, Patriot was 1334. Think of it as Patriot Light. Guessing, the schools in the CAA don't get "help" from their admissions dpts like other schools too. Admissions dpts in mid majors don't care about how good an athlete is.

Funny how one can't keep this program, yet colleges can higher multiple levels of administrators within the same athletic department.

When I starting coaching at the college level, we had one AD, one Associate AD, one business manager, and one secretary along with one head of physical education, who also taught classes. Now, you have 40-50 administrators stepping all over each other trying to look busy and important. You could cut the administrative staff in half at many colleges and no one would miss them.

Runners want to run? Form a club, or touch base with a coach on your own and hit the trails, again on your own. The day the US university system fails and has to be rebuilt, and takes collegiate slush athletics with it, will be a great day.

It's a GD shame, a great shame, that college kids pay fees to subsidize college athletics. Enough.

A slight exaggeration yet basically the truth!

Does anyone have updates on what the team and alumni are doing to fight back? There must be a large amount of people that want to take action.

No the Head ADs who do nothing and rely on 20 overpaid assistant ADs to do everything would notice when they actually have to do things. This is why cuts never come to bloated administrations because they don’t want their half a million paid jobs to require work.

I'm an alumnus and I graduated over 20 years ago but I have donated money every year since. When I was there we ran a huge local high school meet, organized the colonial relays (which also had a large HS component) and the entire team volunteered/helped organize the colonial half marathon. We also had a great alumnus / community network led by Randy Hawthorne (whose name has been mentioned already)...so yes - we were (and still are) an active part of the community.

People who are praying for the downfall of college sports couldn't go D1 and harbored a grudge

In the CAA, Hofstra just added both an indoor and outdoor track team last year....

When it comes to the CAA they don't care about smaller sports like track or swimming, priority is given to the popular sports like basketball, soccer or lacrosse.
