There are over 1,400 posts!! EVERYTHING has been discussed in detail. Psychology, physiology, sociology, ...But maybe not so much the lack of shorter races. What's your point here?

Frank Meza starts over 20 minutes after the gun and misses the 10k mat and 18 mile mat. This is almost a decade ago. (2010) Marathon

Just a response to a question about just that. But it was a good question, one that had been observed early on by various posters.

Long beach Marathon 2010 Perhaps Frank Meza just crossed the start 22 minutes late, than drove up to the half way point to cross the 12.5 mile mat, than got back in his car to drive to the 24 mile mat, cross that mat and maybe run the last 2 miles. Marathon

The point is, if Frank can put in 18+ 5k's splits in a marathon in his sixties and 19/20+ as a 70yo you'd think he'd go for the world record in 5k and 10k road races just for fun and to say he holds them. I know I would and Ed Whitlock did, of course we know why there's a lack of Frank running them, they're ten times harder to cheat.

Kip managed it but he was outed on here eventually, there was a 10k he cut and I think was DQd, a 5k he invented and a 17 minute 5k he was captured walking at.

Yes it's a mystery to me too. It's not like they don't go after cheaters etc. sometimes.

Perhaps, it's being wary of a lawsuit for defamation or something.

I just finished Frank's book , Shortcuts To Records, after Chapter 1, it skipped to Chapter 12, then Chapter 26.

Just completed my weekend 20 mile run wearing the new Nike Meza and felt so good, I thought I had only gone a mile or two.

Why did everyone miss when I started this thread with this post?

Can't find one story about this on-line. Just the results of the Feb 9, 2019 Sprouts Mesa Phoenix Marathon. This may be the fastest 70 plus marathon ever. (point to point so may not get sanctioned as all time best) Still, no mention anywhere? This was bound to happen as he gets faster every year. No fluke either, he ran 2:53:27 about 4 months prior in Long Beach, Ca.
