Your advice and the advice of our governor has been a disaster. When you just tell people to "be careful" and "get tested" you give this false sense that there are easy answers.
It's the kind of thinking that has killed a lot of Georgians.
I don’t see wearing a mask, social distancing, good hygiene and testing as bad advice. Isn’t that what all the experts are advising?

One correction to what I said.
"GET TESTED" is bad advice unless you really have reason to believe you might be covid positive. Right now, tests are a scarce resource. If you are getting tested for some other reason then you are taking a test away from someone who really needs it.

Every nation that has used the stay at home order has brought its cases down. It worked in the US as well but we opened back up too quickly.
It depends where you are. Certainly if you're in a hotspot, yes I would advise against getting tested. If you're in the Northeast, testing is a community good which can help prevent asymptomatic spread in an area where there are enough tests and most likely a new spread is going to happen without being obvious.

A very very bad day out there. Everything is getting worse, in terms of deaths.
Globally, the worst single day of deaths since the peak days of mid April.
Going back to my usual 7 day rolling average, it's all bad.
US new cyclical high, worst since June 6.
World new cyclical hight worst since May 3
FL, CA, TX = new all time highest deaths.
AZ seems to be plateauing at a high level.
Add all four problem states and it's an all time high, 20% higher than a week ago.
I will say that the rate of worsening in the 4 problem states is slowing. Those states may be 20% worse than a week ago, but that' the lowest we've seen. It was more like 40% weekly growth a few days ago.
173 deaths overnight in Florida, a new record. I know you read less into cases, but the trends have been pretty true to form. They indicate that the peak for Florida deaths will be next week (175 per day for a 7-day span?), and the week after will look a lot like this week.

like mask mandates, social distancing, etc., stay at home orders only work if they are enforced Or a large # adhere to them. the problem is like with the other advice people didn’t adhere to stay at home orders. Protests and people just ignoring them. We cant put all our eggs in one basket with stay aT home orders. I think it’s good to advise on all fronts that can help not just one
On 6/12 Gwinnett County surpassed Fulton County for the most positive cases of GA counties
On 6/26 Gwinnnett County had 18% more positive cases than Fulton County
Yesterday, Fulton County passed Gwinnett County for the most positive cases
In July, Fulton County has reported 7204 positive cases

the 7 day average of deaths is showing a similar curve...if the rate of deceleration continues, the 4 problem states will peak in deaths in I don't know...7-10 days. But we've also seen (elsewhere) plateaus form for a few weeks so it doesn't mean they'll head down the other side of the curve right away.

It's your reasoning that is weak. You say some places that did not shut down had small death totals. That's like saying that umbrellas prevent alligator bites. I have an umbrella and I've never been bitten, so that proves it's true.
Quarantines work. This is basic epidemiology with plenty of data to back it up.

I agree.
Telling people to just "be careful" hasn't worked. The one thing we know that has worked is doing those other things combined with stay at home orders.

Again there is no evidence that quarantine of healthy people works. Of course quarantine of sick people works, that is well proven. There is no substantial evidence that quarantine of healthy people is effective; you are just making things up and calling names rather than provide evidence; if it was so obvious there would be evidence. Show it. Quite the contrary, many nations that did not lock down did not have major problems, some like North Korea and Singpore faired very well, among others. In the USA almost all of the states with limited lock downs or no full state closure faired far better than states that implemented rigid lock downs and restrictions; the relationship may not be associated with not locking, but for certain there is no evidence that lock downs improved things. Just because you say it is obvious does not make it true; that is just you lying because you have no evidence to support your argument. Most likely, the primary issues is crowding and confinement; regions with high pop densities in the US did far worse. What is the impact of confining everyone is such place to their crowded apartment buildings, losing most healthy behavior; is it possible that this actually exacerbated the issue; who knows, we need data, and same goes for your claim that lock downs work; ther is no data suggesting they do, just assumptions and catchy zingers mean to insult anyone questioning your claim.
