Yeah, the result is there but it is still suspicious for me since it is much faster than she has ever ran and much faster than the 4:12 Amy Hughes did at the London Marathon just a few months prior to the Shrewsbury Marathon. With no intermediate times and no race photos and only a few hundred people running in the first time this event was held, I don't have any confidence in that 3:39.

Those that ran it thought so too.

So it looks like the Shrewsbury Marathon 2013 consisted of 4 laps and people on Runnersworld saying they saw people cut the course and that there were no intermediate timing mats anywhere. Would have been pretty easy to just say you did all 4 laps without having done it all.

Funny how all these questions and anomalies always seem to crop up where suspected cheaters are involved.

Nonsense, 28 minute improvement is very significant and not a result of conditions in the day.

Stating that charity runners don't need to prove their running is a classic defence used by the defenders of charity cheats.

The Shrewsbury result is a significant outlier to Amy's other results, including her 10K PB, that is incredibly hard to believe.

Where did you get that from?

According to runbritain rankings she ran 3.38.54 at Shrewsbury, not the 3.39.26 on the official results. Her other listed marathon times are 3.22.14 in 2016 and 3.34.43 in 2015.

My bad, you're right, I'd clicked on the wrong athlete somehow. So the person who finished in the exact same time as Amy had a bad day, but Amy had a great run taking an equivalent chunk off her PB. It's also interesting that Michelle Bowen ran London too that year, in 3:16 to Amy's 4:07. Michelle looks like a pretty good marathon runner, Amy looks like a plodder at London and a cheat at Shrewsbury.

No it does not count. Otherwise one could say they ran x number of marathons just by adding up his or her distances over a series of days. It doesn't work that way, but Amy wishes it did.
