It's amazing how much sobriety impacts me in the same ways running impacts me. The effects change as the process rolls along. And they are cumulative.
Just like running, things started to really clock after about 9 months. Something about all the slightly-better days stacked on top of each other took things to a new level. All of the people who are close to me made comments in the last couple of weeks that they notice really positive changes in me. They didn't say that three or six months ago.
So if you are struggling and want to get started, take the long view. It is so worth it.
