Are you guys really falling for this? Rono's supposedly running at least 2 hours a day, just about every day, along with a bit of cross-training, and has lost a grand total of 2 pounds in the last month since the Cincinnati race. That's not to mention his training load over the last six months that has yielded a total weight loss of 20-25 pounds, and yet still hasn't gotten him injured. Man oh man.
Slow progress is still progress. He's lost closer to about 30 lbs (around or just under 210 to 177 lbs) in, what, half a year? That's sounds pretty good to me. Think about running into friends you might not have seen in half a year. If they are 30 lbs lighter the next time you see them, that would seem like a pretty drastic change in a relatively short time frame. In that same time frame I went from about 159 to 154 and back to about 159, or about 10 lbs over my last OK race weight (and 15-20 lbs over my PR race weight). How much do I suck in comparison?
I see that having this thread around is a great motivator for Henry. But for (some) readers of this thread, seeing this thread every day is a little like waiting for the movie or main event to start... you want to see some action, NOW. Progress is rarely so direct and fast in the real world for any of us in any of our endeavors. As long as Henry is consistantly losing weight and not yo-yo-ing, he is making progress. Stop being so impatient (to the point of being an @ss about it, at least)... that's Henry's job. Keep it going, Henry!
