Agreed. Goodge's fateful move is going to end up having been his abandonment of the "tech fail" explanation of his Transcon data in favor of the "superior physiology and support" explanation.
The "tech fail" dodge was pretty much foolproof, because the tech does indeed occasionally fail, and the average runner knows this. It definitely does not fail as often as it would need to in order to lend Goodge's data any credibility, but the average fan (or Rich Roll for that matter!) is not going to pay attention long enough to register that fact.
But the "superior physiology and support" tack can easily be proven or falsified. The most damning thing Goodge could do is to not offer independent proof that he's a superior physical specimen. Failure to do this soon will massively increase the incentive of people to watch him more closely the next time he takes a running step. He's still got some outs in this regard (e.g. he could say that training or racing a marathon, or even an ultra, is completely different physiologically from multi-day running); but, if he can't show himself being able to run hundreds of 6-7min/kms over average terrain, in average conditions, at an average HR of 105, then his days of making money out of ultra running are over, AND, everything he claims to have done to that point will be seen in a different light, not just by actual runners, but by everyone who pays any attention to him, sponsors included.
After that, I don't care what new scams he moves on to. I just want him and his ilk out of running.
And finally, to the trolls, you have clearly underestimated the effect of exposing this guys data more broadly. It's still early, but this dude is now completely cornered. He's a complete lightweight and douchebag, so he will pretend otherwise to the bitter end; but, he has to know at this point that he's f*cked as far as future running grifts go.
