Raced a 10K yesterday morning, ran well. Local brewery pouring free beers had a cup of coffee and two bananas and split. Some people can't have just one.

Well done 3 days. How many miles did you get in ?
28 weeks
Great stuff Rooting for you!! 215.
Most races this past year Pretzel Man since about 2018 and over varying distances. Mileage about same but WAY higher quality. No more hungover runs and soeedwork is sharper, better sessions. Hope your running is going well!
I’m not a teetotaler, but starting about 18 months ago I have been taking long breaks from drinking during my training blocks (1-3 months at a time). Funnily enough, my watch’s stupid “body battery” feature is what convinced me to do it. On days without booze I wake up with a score of 100, and on days with booze it’s somewhere in the 50s. I don’t put a ton of meaning into the number, but when a device on my wrist can reliably tell me whether I drank yesterday, it’s clearly having some type of impact on my life.
I’m 39, running 100+ mpw with a job & 2 kids, and just not willing to be tired and miserable all day. When I start a drinking break, I just feel great all the time and the weight melts off. It’s nice. I realize that when I was younger I had a lot more time to just be lazy if I had a mild hangover.

Well done Chunks that's great! 222.
223. Good speedwork today.
I just listened to the audible book “Alcohol Explained” by William Porter. It’s a very good resource that has caused me to rethink even occasional drinking. I don’t even feel like I want to drink any alcohol anymore since even what I thought were benefits are more than counterbalanced by negative aspects.
The fact that this thread has 62 pages says a lot about this site.
