Soledar is still contested. Pirgozhin posted a picture from a salt mine claiming to have taken Soledar, but the salt mine wasn't even in Soledar and battles are still raging for control of the town.
Pirgozhin is trying to make it seem like Wagner PMC is doin' a heckuva job in Ukraine because Wagner PMC relies on funding from the Russian government. The Russian government is posting huge deficits and Wagner PMC is very expensive. Pirgozhin fears that he won't get the level of funding he wants and is trying to make it seem like Wagner is winning on the battlefield. But what Wagner is doing is sending its prison recruits to the front line in separate regiments to charge UA positions over and over. If they try to fall back, Wagner militiamen shoot them. This is just like what the Soviets did in WWII in Leningrad when the Soviets kept sending conscripts to get slaughtered and held off the Nazis just by their willingness to sacrifice massive numbers of soldiers. The problem in Ukraine is that Wagner has lost upwards of 25,000 in the push for Soledar and Bakhmut. Wagner is running low on prison recruits and is not able to replenish its recruits because word has gotten out in the penal colonies that Wagner is using recruits as cannon fodder with death being a near certainty. The prison recruits are paid about half of what regular Wagnerites get paid. Wagner will now need to recruit outside of prisons or pay prisoners full Wagner pay, which will make the cannon fodder prohibitively expensive. Russia is now having to send regular RU soldiers to the front lines in Soledar and Bakhmut because Wagner has burned through most of its recruits. This all may ultimately be a rope a dope move by Ukraine. While Bakhmut is strategically significant, it is not worth the kind of losses Russia has suffered. The more Russia gets slaughtered in Bakhmut and Soledar, the less Russia will be prepared for a spring offensive and will be more vulnerable to another push by UA once they have all the new armored vehicles and missile defense systems delivered from the West.
The cynical take is that dead Wagnerites are cheap.
The prison recruits are not made into Wagnerites. They are kept as a separate volunteer division and get about half the pay of a regular Wagnerite. If they survive combat for six months, they are offered a contract with Wagner and get a big pay raise. So, for Wagner, a for profit PMC, the prison recruits are very good for business. And it is a big issue if the Russian government is not willing (or able) to keep funding levels up for Wagner.
A Ukrainian soldier in the contested eastern town of Soledar described a dire situation to CNN on Thursday evening, saying “we are just abandoned.”
“We tried to withdraw ourselves, but the Orcs [Russians] are already there. If there is no order to withdraw today, we will most likely not have time to leave,” he told CNN over the phone. “We were told that we would be withdrawn. And now we аre just abandoned.” He said that the soldiers had run out of food, were running low on water, and that they had wounded soldiers. He said that they still had some ammunition.
Indeed. Ukrainians even leaving their injured behind. Soledar taken under control by Wagner.
These guys still listen to the US propaganda
MSNBC/Fox/CNN constipated sheeple need to be spoon fed their own financial fleecing. Then denial and lies to support it. It's the only way they can justify getting ripped off by the american business elite. They are ankle grabbers, taking it.
Here, pay for this ONE military coffee cup for $1,683. We're are sending it to (insert failed war / coup). Then we'll report we lost trillions of your dollars for those cups later.
Japan's financial health is terrible, and still better than america's, and that's without considering healthcare costs.
The average after-tax salary is enough to cover living expenses for 2.1 months in Japan compared to 2 months in america.
This is before healthcare, which you lied about.
Japan = $4,752 per year per person US = $8,895 per year per person
When you pay so much to care for yourself, you don't need to send billions to Ukraine to profit rich americans selling LNG to Europe, the purpose of america in Ukraine.
First, you need to PROTECT americans inside america:

Happy day for you guys. Russia on the move, killing Ukraine's defenders.
You popping champagne, No_Deal? It's been a tough 9 months, you can celebrate this news.
Missing boots are stolen by the victors (probably more common by Ruzzkies since everyone acknowledges the better Ukraine kit). One of the most common occurrences in war. A better pair of boots is beyond price at the front.

Here is a life lesson for you, snowflake: amidst the Fog Of War, it is all propaganda, until proven otherwise. How to see through the fog, still cloudy but far better than tribal nonsense that most are sucked into? History. Study it. Deeply and from as many perspectives as possible. Nothing here is really new (especially where Russians are concerned), but in novel clothing. I knew in the first days of this debacle that Putin had made the same mistake as Stalin '39 and by two months, I knew he had made the same mistake as Hitler '41.
If america rounded up its homeless (4 times more than Russia's homeless, oer capita), american cities would not look like Ukraine now. america is too busy making more homeless to clean their cities.
