Engels was simply great. Honest, stuck through the full interview, put things into perspective, and called out someone who should shut her mouth in casting a net over everyone. (I for one read the report, and would note ZERO athletes were doped or alleged to have been).

This is just one more notch in the NOP. I am not about to believe that what was going on during the investigated time period is not still going on as Engels suggests. He talks about how he was drinking beers as a freshman back then. He is completely unaware of anything going on. You can believe that, but I don't.

Engels actually had the easier task here, because Simpson was the one who spoke first. That he would defend himself in almost exactly the way he did was predictable, and he had time to consider his response.
Simpson is the one who went out on a limb, because she knew that she'd get the equivalent of a lot of downvotes despite knowing she was in the right, and knowing also that others who knew she was right would continue to remain silent or even publicly side with the NOP loyalists.
As an aside, it's either impressive or sad or both that these two can carry this on coherently while also kicking butt on the track. In their own very different ways they can probably both channel the hijinks into better performances or at least not implode on account of the drama. No one will ever doubt the preparedness to race of either one of them, all of the other crap notwithstanding.

If Salazar wasn't doping his athletes then what he did was merely a technical infringement and doesn't affect anyone. But that isn't "orchestrating prohibited doping practices" (the description used by USADA) that would merit a 4-year ban. I think Simpson and quite a few other athletes (Willis, et al) get that. And now the IOC wants more answers to the question of whether Salazar's athletes were involved.

Good for Craig Engels for calling out Jenny. And do yourself a favor and read the report. NOP didn't cheat. 6 years of investigation and they can only come up with Alberto giving 100ml of L-carnitine to Steve Magnus. Who was not a competing athlete at the time.

Jenny is just telling it like it is , unlike Craig's past decisions he can't just transfer if your an athlete for NOP you have to live with this clean or unclean whether you knew or not when you joined if you were looking for a job and you went to go work for a company that had a history of breaking laws and you didn't do your homework you could still be implicated why should Craig to a different standard just because he has the haircut of a five year old. We discussed what animals we could hunt that's great man your all silly and cool but you made a poor decision , Jenny made smart career moves and has no doubt around her coaching staff so why are we mad because she basically stated the obvious why should we feel sorry for people who didn't think there actions through I mean certainly don't the NOPs still doing well but they have to live with that scrutiny I'm sure the medals help but don't act like others are wrong for being doubtful
