that is exactly the logic, you're a quick one. not so much am I'm saying don't respect marathoners at all. but as is the case with tri's, the marathoners have their place in the pecking order and it's certainly behind the 5kers and 10kers. I'll feel that way until the trials standard is lowered (at least to something a woman can't crush by a mile like it is now).
And to the other guy, all sports certainly can be advantageous to certain people with certain backgrounds, i agree. But tri's being "biased" to swimmers is different. Technically there are 3 sports involved, but my argument is that the swimming part requires the most time spent being learned. Does that mean it's the toughest? I dunno. Therefore, those who spend their entire childhood/high school/college swimming and then pick up biking and running later on have the upper hand over those of us who are runners or bikers first and then attempt to swim competitively.
