Eliud and all those champions supporting Kiprop mean a lot, and they are like witnesses who go to court to support someone accused of wrong doing. They would not risk their necks and sponsorships were they to think Kiprop was guilty. Too much to lose.

Asbel has an honest face and demeanor when asked probing questions in that recent BBC interview. One would have to be naive to claim that those big, mesmerising eyes of his convey 100% honesty, but there are no indicators, in that interview, that he is lying, and he (Asbel) should be given the opportunity, with his defence team, to clarify all points in the saga, including the discrepancy in dates, which just don't jell.

Not saying this should happen, but this whole case should be dropped on technical grounds, because correct procedures were not followed, and those vials could indeed have been tampered with, when Asbel excused himself to make those remittances on his cell phone.

It goes without saying that Eliud K., and all those other champions who support him (Kemboi et.al), have shared the better part of the last 10 years with the elegant favorite son of Kenyan athletics, and they would have dropped him had they had any indication that he cheated. That, in itself, is indicative, in all likelihood, that Asbel has not done wrong, or broken sacrosanct doping guidelines. All those guys live together, eat together, sleep together (sometimes, even sharing the same beds, Kenyan style, for want of space), and are like pack animals.

This is the Kenyan way -a communal culture, where no one ever walks alone, and where everyone knows everyone else's business. This is unlike our western, highly individualistic culture where we are separate individuals, autonomous, and distant, from even our closest neighbors. No connection.

It’s just as likely that they are pressing charges on Rotich to hold him back from spilling the beans.

He and a lot of his friends who would also be hurt in a real attempt to clean things up get punished less in the in the trade-off, lather rinse repeat through the entire dirty system.

It’s more of an insider fight and damage control than a process of justice.

I see, so a 'fake IAAF agent' named Simon took a urine sample from Kiprop... and then submitted it to Kenyan Anti-Doping agency who accepted it, had it tested and submitted it to the IAAF.

I commented on this in another thread, to say it didn't interest me. It looks like a 2-year old story, just coming to trial. It looks like Rotich made some offers to undercover reporters, pretending to be rich and willing to give their money away. For me, the story is missing some details that could make it more interesting. It's not clear if the reporters were themselves athletes, or represented real athletes. It's not clear whether real Kenyan athletes, or real British athletes were ever previously involved with Rotich. It's not clear if anyone was actually doped or tipped off by Rotich. I'm not afraid one bit if Rotich spills the beans. On the contrary, if you are right, I hope he spills all the beans, and nothing but the beans. I don't have the impression that the doping in Kenya is sophisticated. Keep us posted when further information becomes available.

so simon getting $32 was enough for a TOP end dinner. no some low budget tea lolz......i have heard of alumni bribing recruits with a TOP end dinner to go to college. but nope a pro runner doing it for a favor to make sure urine doesnt come back dirty would never happen..

and back to what i had thought since the beginning. he was prob supposed to pay dude $320 and forgot the "0", dude was pissed he got shafted and so kiprops urine was not purified.
