All of his other marathons have been pretty warm, so it is unlikely that they would have triggered asthma problems.

His asthma has caused him problems in cold races in the past, but they have generally been unimportant or shorter races, so it wasn't a huge deal to slog it in to the finish in 10th place or whatever. It's a little different in a 2+ hour race.

Bad weather conditions like that can intensify it. I thought my child hood asthma was gone until I did a mile race in freezing cold. Luckily runner friend near by had an inhaler

He actually ran his goal in this race which was to break the American Record, but Chris just ran faster on the day then he did. Both of them and Sam had great races that day with two guys under the American record and the NCAA record being set in that race. Rupp ran great CS ran even better that day.

Rupp is a beast plain and simple who cares if he had one bad races almost everyone does at least once in their life haters will hate oh well best of luck to Rupp in the Future and GO DUCKS

If there is real evidence verified by external analysis and/or confessions of doping by Rupp, I would absolutely not support him, and his whole career would be tainted, just as it is with pro cyclists.

As far as my remark about Des and Yuki not winning another major, I don't see anything crazy about that. Boston offered a unique opportunity and they were strong enough and smart enough to take advantage of it and take the well-deserved wins. I just don't think either of them going forward will have more marathons play out like Boston did.
