Are you talking about refugees, asylum seekers and economic migrants crossing the Sahara and the Med to uncertain lives in Europe? Do you know how many of those are Kenyan? Big fat ZERO! Like I said. most Kenyans like living in their own country just fine and have no interest in going abroad except to visit.

I lived and travelled across Europe both as a student and for work (I wear a wristband that's explicitly Kenyan) and got approached very few times. The odd person that will approach you in places like Paris or even once in Venice are typically homesick girls that met and married European guys in Kenya. The UK is different because they speak English and so there's a sizeable Kenyan community there, the vast majority having initially moved for university and stayed. Hardly "millions".

I was re-reading the thread and realised we’ve gone off on such a tangent and essentially hijacked a thread that’s about the achievements and promise of this talented young guy. Hopefully we get back on topic and focus on Julien Wanders.

Just to be clear, I’m not totally opposed and I’m not saying it’s all bad. It’s actually good the World is finally coming to learn from Kenya. . A lot of benefits for the local community as well as aspiring foreign runners. I just hope Iten’s popularity doesn’t change it too much. That’s all. Example,

Flagstaff is too big, expensive, and trendy. I'm talking dumpier, smaller, and straight up non-appealing. Like some dying old mining town that peaked 100 years ago and has not tourist appeal. It doesn't get an obscene amount of snow in the winter or get ridiculously hot in the summer. Maybe like Silver City, New Mexico, without the tourist crap and maybe another 1000 or 2000 ft of elevation.

Actually his road 10ks make his progression look much more consistent
