UK fans are consistently harsh towards proven dopers. Linford Christie became a pariah after he tested positive post career and wasn't allowed to be at track side at meets when coaching, and Chambers was often booed by home crowds post his suspension.
Irrespective of whether Farah or the big O doped, there is no proof that they did. A crowd, however knowledgeable, aren't mind readers and can hardly go around booing anyone that they 'feel' might be doping, can they?

Yes, that's exactly the point I was succinctly making. I don't think Gatlin is doping now, but that isn't why I don't like him. I think he might have have gotten injured, didn't train as hard, or is just getting old. Bolt can usually eat a candy bar and hit 9.95. I think this loss though might have damaged the marketability of Bolt. People now probably don't see him as the untouchable athlete he usually is, because he just lost. I think that the reason people are celebrating Gatlin's victory is mostly because Bolt has been so dominant that everybody else is an underdog if they're in the same race as him.
Suppose Bolt comes back for a year and Puma launches an ad campaign on 'Redemption.' Definitely seems like something that could blow up, couldn't it? This time, he could be the underdog. Just doesn't seem right for a sprinter as great as Bolt to fall short and lose his last track event.

You are assuming the people turning up to the stadium are educated on the intricacies of it all, they aren't. None of them will understand Gatlin's adhd and his first ban. So who is to blame, well it's the media and that includes you Letsrun.
They just interviewed Gatlin live on NBC. He was gracious and well spoken, as he always seems to be. They asked him directly about the booing and he mostly brushed it off, saying he expected it, but conceded that it helped motivate him in the final.

I agree that the times were slow, but: it's London (in summer, but still not the tropical heat a sprinter thrives on), second race on the day (no easy task, but that's how global champs are usually scheduled, so not much of an excuse when comparing past years), track was pretty wet early in the day (if anyone remembers last year's thread on the slow 200 final, you'll know that track sogginess has a big effect on sprint times), and of course the -0.8 wind. I'd easily give the race a 0.10 handicap, maybe a little more, but no more than two tenths.
Wasn't the final only like 2 hours after semis too? I never really understood that kind of spacing for an elite sprinting event.

Look up who controls WADA.
Look up who has the broadcasting rights to the Diamond League meets.
Your question will then be answered.
Yes, they have to share some of it with Nike. Nike doesn't control it. Nike doesn't care about T&F much since there isn't much revenue in it. Uncle Phil cares about T&F and he still pulls a lot of the strings at Nike.
