All you nike whiners need to just give up
Despite all these allegations nothing has ever been proven. GET OVER IT. Rupp is clean, so is Farah, and nothing you say will change that.

rojo,
it seems like somebody is shopping this document around to every outlet they possibly can.
It seems you haven't seen it, based on your post above.
Why don't you see if you can't get your hands on it? Print the whole thing publicly.
I'd love to publish it. The document was hacked by Fancy Bears. They are the ones that got it out there I believe.
I wrote Fancy Bears when they first launched and told them I'd love to publish whatever they have. Never heard back.

Does Ritz just want publicity also?

Publicity. Ritz clearly doesn't want it. He quietly picked up and moved home.
So it could be that he's just publicity shy or it could also be deep down he wonders if what he did was legitimate. I'd hate to have been in the group and been getting shots maybe a massage from Alberto and wondering, "I'd never broken 2:10:00 in the marathon until I joined the group and one day I ran 2:07:47. Was everything I was getting legit?"
I remember having a debate with someone about Ritz a few years ago. They thought the group was dirty. I said, "So if you think Rupp is dirty does that mean Ritz has to be as well?" They used the onion analogy and said no but also added something along the lines of, "I don't think he was dirty - certainly for most of his career, but then again, if your nike contract is up for renewal and you've got kids to support and Alberto gives you stuff, it should would be tempting to not ask questions as to what it is at a minimum or look the other way for a few months until you get reupped."
We don't want people feeling that type of pressure. It would be easy to massage androgel into an athlete without them knowing - just ask Justin Gatlin.
You're either uninformed about Catholic moral teaching, a bigot, or both.

You don't have to be a decent or moral person so long as you put the Church above the law and everything else, as well as give an occasional confession to a mere mortal who purports to be an agent of God.

Does Nike have you on salary or do they pay by the hour?
You work for a dirty company and seem to be OK with it. Kinda like Rupp and Farah.
Has anyone changed their opinion of Hasay after the latest revelations?
As for Ritz, he's always been one of my favorites and I'm sympathetic to him after reading his testimony in the article. It looks like he was very uncomfortable with Salazar's shenanigans and unlike Kara never publicly bashed anyone. It definitely makes me think his 5000 AR deserves an * but I'd like to believe he could still run close to that clean.

Agree that moral decisions often aren't as black and white as we'd like. But Ritz reportedly had doubts as of late 2011 and was still wearing the NOP singlet at Chicago 2013. Similar to Goucher reportedly having concerns in, what, 2009, and then sticking around another couple years.
That doesn't make them villains, but it's not especially heroic to do what you think is right only after getting all aspects of your life in order.
Can they stop giving us these articles related to certain allegations. It's either they're doping or they aren't doping

If USADA has something concrete, say so. If not, it's time to move on. Good grief.
Don't we have bigger doping problems than whether or not Tara Welling took too much of a legal supplement six years ago?
This isn't what we already publicly knew.
1) We never before knew how uncomfortable all of this made Ritzenhein feel. Or Erdmann. The fact is these athletes as proven by Ritz's and Erdmann's sworn testimony (but which changes when she talks to the press as her husband is a Nike employee) didn't feel comfortable or know what was being done to them.
It does confirm what I'd heard gossiped about in hotel lobbies - that Ritz was pissed as hell about his tenure there and had lawyered up after he left and that he refused to wear the NOP singlet in the Boston marathon when he first went back to Michigan.
2) We also had never heard that Dr. Brown modified medical documents to try to cover his tracks.
Exactly. modification of medical records is huge. In addition to Ritz and Goucher feeling pressure, i gotta wonder how much this had to do with mary cain's demise and departure from NOP. Here is an 18 year who likely told her parents what she is being told to take and mom and dad not happy with the situation.
Everyone knew what was going on long before Mary Cain. That includes Mary's parents.

Maybe. But look at the number of people on these boards who believe this is all just a witch hunt, jealousy, or sour grapes. mary thrived under his coaching, in HS. Their minds were probably made up about her joining NOP and when this stuff started surfacing, they figured "haters gonna hate".

I like many other lurkers go back to the Grote schiefer days, the resurrection of the sport Webb ritz etc. we've all suspected such but now it's there in black and white. Very very sad day for American running.

It sounds like the only way to get it to performance-enhancing levels is to go have it infused for over an hour in Dr. Brown's office.
I think it was reported that it was ultimately determined no to do anything so it ceased being used...
i agree with spencer wrote:
yeah but you need thyroid medication to keep your hormones in check from EPO micro dosing and HGH.
salazar tells them the injections are only l-carnitine and thyroid and vit D cocktails. what he isnt telling them is what else he is hiding in with the injections.
Rupp, Farah and prob centro prob all get the good stuff, and kara at the time. the others prob only get the "placebo" stuff till salazar thinks upping them with some real deal gear is worth it.
he uses lower level tools like magness as guinea pigs. then look at mary cain...she didnt know what was in her injections but decided to refuse taking them. alberto then tells her goodbye...and now she is running SLOOOOOW
kara wanted to stop taking them, alberto gave her the ax, she told him she would squeal, he said he would expose their affair and ruin her marriage and reputation. everyone who cant see all the dots and connect them i feel bad for you.
if you look up side effects caused by certain steroids, EPO, and HGH you will see that they cause certain deficiencies, and these deficiences can be fixed by legal things like vit D, L-carnitine, and thyroid meds. getting TUEs for these things also keeps his pupils "ok" if things are a little off cause salazar can claim levels are off cause of their certain "conditions"...add in a corrupt doc who can skew medical reports or make "clean" results that are just slightly off.
in my mind salazar is more evil than rossa and Retardo. why? because he threatens his athletes if they refuse to comply. it reminds me of a CEO who preys on young hot interns. whereas rossa and Retardo are like pimps, "here take this EPO and HGH and then give me 80% of your earnings, you will still be more wealthy than anyone else in your country so make your choice"
No way they were/are microdosing banned substances and skipped the Gouchers, Ritz etc., and it hasn't come out.
Get real.
So are some of you guys now accusing people with possibly legitimate medical disorders of taking THEIR MEDICATION?
i hope none of you guys ever get thyroid problems. Plus, the article even said these meds haven't been proven to help running.
It seems a lot of you are just frustrated that these guys are better runners based on talent and work ethic, and so just look for the drug excuse to escape your own failings.
These guys are better than you, drugs or not. And they aren't even on drugs. Rupp and Salazar are good catholics too.
Terre earth wrote:

Well that does it. I totally 100% believe them both and they are scholars and gentlemen.
The Times is just the National Enquirer these days.
Looks like there is a little bit of new information in the article - thanks for sharing OP.
I don't have a lot of respect for the people in that group. I have no respect for their coach.

I kinda thought that from day one when Cain when went back home. It also reflects well on Webb that he didn't stay long under Al's coaching.
Speculate much? You (and I) have no idea why Cain left.
And as for Webb, ARE YOU SERIOUS? Although this is also speculation, I would venture to say that it's more likely he was fired because he was performing so poorly.
Treniere Moser was always a red flag. She was at the absolute nadir of her fairly long career, and then a complete resurrection after joining NOP. Makes WC team, comes down with mystery injury on eve of the meet... muck like Regina Jacobs, actually.
