I don't think that is such a Republican/Democrat issue, as a $ issue. The U.S. has depended heavily on Saudi oil production for decades.

The U.S. has opposed democracy in Iran, in Jordan, in Saudi Arabia, in Egypt--this is US oil-guided strategy that has been in force for decades, and every administration comes to accept it very quickly, based on inescapable economic facts (primarily that the US is a huge oil importer, and has been for many decades).

No? It's hard to imagine an amount of money that the Saudis would find enticing. We've been working with them for a long time because they have a lot of money and are thus very influential in the area. The problem with the Saudis is not that we've given them money, it's that they have so much and use it to fund horrible causes.

Now if you substitute Pakistan for Saudi Arabia, maybe. For sure, we funneled way too much money and arms through the Pakistanis without vetting where it was going (check out Ghost Wars!).

Signing off rash exec orders that attract legal challenges left right and centre. The president will end up in so much legal paperwork that he won't find time in the week to play golf.

Mix in his ego that is so huge he is happy to completely sideline politics to do some dick measuring and this is a recipe for disaster.

This is not the man to get the republican policies done. He is making it up as he goes along.

I am not sure what Mo's status is. I am pretty confident than he will be able to return to the US.

I found it funny that Mo tweeted that Trump had made him "an alien". Well he is a British citizen. That makes him an "alien" as far as the US is concerned, and he was one before all this mess.

There is no right for a foreign national to be admitted to any nation. Nations have the right to remain sovereign and control its borders. Otherwise, why have nations at all? When we get to the Star Trek future where there are tons of other planets with intelligent life, then we can talk about one planet under one government. Let's just hope it is not the current make up of the Security Council.

The rest of the world is responding predictably. Economic activity will slow as "Money" people are discouraged from having anything to do with the U.S. because of the chaos.

Given how poorly the Republicans prepared for this legislative session, they will fail there too. Epic failure all around and we are barely a month into the session.

There just isn't enough chaos in the Executive branch yet.

Let's rewind to the last Trump disaster: Mexico is America's a top-5 trading partner. "You don't want our trade? Fine. No meeting." This immigration thing is exactly the same thing. The world is much smaller and nobody really thinks the U.S. is something special any more.
