^^ I agree. I had never heard of this girl before so I googled her, she has overcome a lot and is very talented and inspiring.

People here like to tear other people down for some reason. Treating others poorly will not help you feel any better about yourself or help you reach your goals.

If you spend most of your time training at sea level, the last thing you want to do before a big race is come up to altitude early. You want to recover normally from training runs each day instead of expose yourself to the thinner air. By most estimates, that would not be beneficial. Ask any coach who travels between the two.

But many coaches (and much literature) will also tell you that you can acclimate (given the right amount of time) at altitude and have huge success; and that far outweighs the likelihood of having success when coming directly from sea level to altitude. But in the end... To each his own. Do what works for you. (And if Hanson's programs and approaches work for you that's great; if not that's ok too).

Totally depends on the timing, combined with some individual variation. Arriving 3-5 days ahead of a big race is probably the worst thing. Getting there the day before is better but only slightly so. If you have a couple weeks then by all means go for it; 3-6 weeks to get fairly adapted; 3-6 months to more or less be there.

It looks like she just recently moved to Colorado. Hudson Elite commented on an instagram pic of hers, "Welcome Home". And she's commented on a bunch of their pics. I'd say Hudson elite is the new training group. She might be out Brooks as a sponsor,no mention of them anywhere on her social media. She always had to add #brooksbabe to every pic...

With her University of Huston connection, she should see if Magnus has any interest in coached her. Hudson hasn't really coached anyone with any relevance on the national scene for quite some time.

What are you talking about? Brad has coached probably more Olympic Marathon Trials qualifiers for '16 than any other current coach/group. The question is what has Magness done or know that would make him any better of a coach for someone who's on the verge of being a marathoner? The dude is young and knows nothing but science, not the art, of the marathon.

I am not sure if I would take a chance on her. HOKA? Oiselle? Newton?

Any word from Neely about what's next? I am a huge fan having watched in her PA -she was a couple years ahead of me. I don't much care about (Hanson's -they are mostly a group of wannabes, ok --with the exception of Desi). Just want to know what's next for Neely? Does anyone know what she's training for?

Well, he's on the verge of coaching a marathoner, Sara Hall, right now. She's torn up the road. So we'll see, but he's mostly art if you listen to his podcast for example. That's all he and Jon Marcus talk about. The art side of it.

How would he or Jon know "the art"? They quit themselves before they figured it all out. To know kung fu you have to feel kung fu. Bunch of wannabes.
