I kind of want to try this, but am scared as to how shitty I would feel for the week. Also, did you gain any weight through this?
Fastguy, going for a recovery run and beer today?
This is incredible, 100 miles and 100 beers in 80 hours. if only I was this good at running or drinking. Congratulations to you, sir. Just wondering, do you run for your college's team? What are your PRs?
Big big respect from down under.
Reading about your incredible effort reminded me of a Pommy TV show called The Supersizers? A food documentary show where every episode a couple pretends to go back to a famous period of history and eat and drink what they would have back then for an entire week E.g. Eating as Henry the Eighth or during the French Revolution. Truly disgusting.
They get a medical checkup before and after to see how it has affected them.
You should do similar medical checkups next time. Your liver functions tests might fill a few medical journals.
Impressive work. There are very few people on the planet that could equal this record. Running, yes. Drinking, of course. Not together. I hope other heavy drinking runners step up and go for it.
This feat has a similar sentiment as the recent surge of unknown africans running 2:04:xx.
We USED to think the 100/100 in 7 days actually meant something, much in the same way that we USED to think a 2:08 marathon actually meant something. Now our eyes are open to the true depth of talent that lurks beneath the surface, waiting for its opportunity to change the world.
30 miles and 30 beers per day for 3+ days. Our forefathers would laugh at the impossibility of such an undertaking.
An historic day indeed.

I actually find something funny in all the respect LR is giving this guy. Obviously, his effort was very impressive. But I know several ultra runners who live this lifestyle day in and day out. Yet LR continues to crap on ultra runners day in and day out.
I lived with a group of guys for two years after college. There was one guy who we couldn't hang with on any level. He must've averaged 140 miles and 100 beers every week. But that's not the impressive part. He would also bring a different girl home every time we went to the bars. He was the epitome of the extreme lifestyle. Most of us know the line we can't cross, but this guy crossed that line and never looked back. Unfortunately, he died before he was 30 in a skydiving mishap, but that's life.
Anyway, I guess my point is, if you're impressed by Fastguy but despise ultra runners, just remember there are some ultra runners out there doing this exact thing constantly.
Nice work to Fastguy.
Doing this as an event is interesting. Drink 100 beers/week consistently and you're just an alcoholic.

yeah. it doesnt really feel good. you feel like you got hit by a truck after it
since it was only 3 days i probably couldnt have gained any more than a couple pounds. your extra beer calories are almost offset by the running

no, i dont run for my school unfortunately. but ive run 1:11/2:28 for half marathon/marathon. so im decent but not great. "fast guy" handle just makes fast guy/fat guy work.

funny but still kind of true. i originally thought in a week would be hard, then i found out 100 hours is possible. i struggled to do 97.5 hours with light beer but it told me 80 hours with regular beer would be within reach, so i did. all about mind set

maybe in a week in can be sustained for a couple months. 140/100 is 20 miles/14.3 beers per day. i averaged 30/30. other people can probably do that but it absolutely cannot be sustained
whats funny is im not a heavy drinker. my two bicentennials probably make up over a third of my lifetime beer count. it certainly doubled the number of times ive been fully drunk/ i can get drunk really easily but sober up in a half hour. for whatever reason i can flush it out fast. so to Ozzie, the testing would actually be really interesting to see how/why that happens. a line graph of my BAC over the 80 hours would be cool
Bump
No. Fast and Fats are each married with three kids.
