Here we go again. I've yet to get a good answer to my question, from Wejo or anyone else: at what age do Africans stop aging??
Apparently all their youngsters are in their late 20s and 30s and according to Mrs Wejo over 40.
So should we all accept the fact that most open runners Are actually masters runners? Or should we conveniently avoid that entire discussion??
Am I missing something...who cares? If he's 50 that would be even more impressive. He didn't just win Juniors, he won the open WC 800m. Plus, these guys in Africa age faster because of the elements, hot sun, etc. I don't even get why this matters at all.

When I was in the 8th grade, there was a kid who grew a full thick beard, and he regularly bought beer without even being carded (age for beer was 19 at the time, but he was just 14). There was a kid in my high school who went bald. He looked all of 35...he also bought beer with no problem.
There's a stellar track athlete (sprinter) on my daughter's high school team (he's a he, so he's on the boys team) who has looked like a man of 20+ since he was in 7th grade when I used to coach him in our youth track program.
Not everyone looks like a fetus with shoes until they are in their mid 20s.
Leave people alone. They think African runners come from the big city living middle and upper income life. Wouldn't it be interesting if an 18 year-old American looks exactly as an 18-year old (age-wise)in Mali?
If this age issue is systematic, then we can assume that the top Africans are 5-10 years older than perceived! I never realized that the state of western running was this bad if these elderly Africans repeatedly beat everyone.
