Well, what's the criteria? Where someone was born? Then add Lynn Jennings and Mary Slaney to New Jersey. Jennings was born in Princeton, Slaney in Orange something or other.
If it is where they went to high school then Jennings is Mass.
Gwyn Coogan was from Pennsylvania, and went to Exeter so is she PA or NH?

Most underrated Colorado runner out there: Ted Castaneda (Palmer / CU)
Steiner was just a good high school runner, he never did much at KU. How 'bout the state record holder in the marathon, former Twin Cities winner in 2:11:30, Fred Torneden. In the 400 meters it has to be Butch Reynolds, Oly Gold Medalist (Butler CCC).
I gotta' agree with you on that one! Ted-head rocks! A super nice guy, though a little strange at times. Castaneda really tore it up in the early to mid 70's!

From what state did Jack Bachelor attend high school? I know he attended Miami(Oh). Also, does anyone know his PR's?
Randy Wilson definitely takes the cake. 1:44 flat for 800.
Pat Davey should not be left off the Michigan list.

Butch Reynolds is from Akron, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio State. You can't get any more Ohioan than that.
According to you Steiner never did much at KU and was "just a good high school runner" yet somehow what little he did I would bet was better than any other Kansas runner over the last 25 years.
Fred will definitely make the list for Kansas...he was one of the toughest runners I have ever known...as for Steiner, he did place 7th at the NCAA Cross Country meet one year and as a frosh he placed 3rd in the PAC 10 meet before he transfered to KU...he was very injury prone but definitely a talent...
