You know, someone pointed this out during XC in a similar scenario and she just did it again. I guess impeding is her strategy when she's challenged. Just the two of them and she shoved out into lane 3 to get in her way? Dirty.
It was towards the end of the 2025 New Jersey cross country meet of champions where sheppard tried the dirty maneuver on Leah Starkey.
With regards to the just finished Arcadia meet she herded Combe out. That being said I think Combe should have stood her ground more.
Also while Combe ran a strong race, I think she made a tactical mistake by letting Sheppard run around with too much of an easy lead. She should have been right next to her.
The boy’s seeded 800m (1:49) was faster than the invitational (1:50).
Looks like they moved Lucas Alberts up to the invitational race. He got pushed around in the pack several times, wasted a lot of energy but still managed to run decently for his level. The guy that won the 2025 California state meet scratched. Alberts beat Morales in what could be a rematch of the 2026 state meet.

I don't get why everybody is so certain that the 3200 is going to be a lights out smokeshow.
The miles and 800's are almost always tactical, and like this year, often the fastest time of the day comes from a slower heat. While the last heat of the 3200s is always the fastest, everybody trusts their kick too much and they never go out fast enough to have a real shot at records.
If they get out 4:14 or faster, now we're talking, but most years it's like 4:20 then close 4:15- super impressive, but often underwhelming given the field assembled.
Maybe this year will be the one since Jackson Spencer's in it, but I'm not holding my breath.
Well, we know that Spencer wants to push it for asub 8:30 and there are a few guys like Mantecon / van Meerten who will stick with. The memory of last year going slow is probably fresh in their minds, I have a feeling this will get out at a healthy pace. I might be wrong, but I hope it does!

Hasn’t Sheppard already anchored 2 winning relays at this meet? I think she was in the 4x1mile and then also the sprint medley. I think she anchored both to wins.
Interference is any action by a competitor that unfairly changes the course or natural running rhythm of a competitor during a race. This may include bumping, tripping, or running across the competitor's path.
The announcer seems to be stumbling his words much more than usual unfortunately
For the seeded 300mH girls race he was still announcing the 6th lane when the gun went up. He continued announcing the rest of the runners while the race was going and only got around to calling the race a few seconds before they crossed the line. Poor guy seems tired.
