If you actually look at what Kimmel said, he was talking more about the MAGA crowd's reflexive finger pointing at everyone else, e.g. "The Charlie Kirk assassin was a radical leftist/pro Trans who gleefully took down the conservative activist."
Many on the right were making such accusations/allegations and lies long before the assassin turned himself in, and long before anyone knew anything about him and his motivations.
It looks like from the assassin's own words, it was his personal decision to respond to evil and hatred: "His parents then asked their son why he committed this crime, to which he said "there is too much evil and the guy [Charlie Kirk]] spreads too much hate," according to the charging documents."
In any case, this assassin doesn't represent the left, who consistently speak out against escalating to political violence, and will once again want to bring up the topic of gun control.
