If Trump really cared about reducing crime, he'd restore some of the Federal grants that helped cities add more officers to their police forces. That would create jobs, have a longer lasting effect, and would allow the National Guard to do what they're actually supposed to be doing.

This is all for show because Trump wants to convince people he's some sort of tough guy, when the reality is he's a terrified idiot who seems crime around every corner.

Just admit it..Democrats are unconcerned about violent crime and degraded, unsafe cities because they themselves created those cities with their idiotic governance.

If most of actual taxpayers hadn’t fled these major cities the cities would have the money for police protection.

But since the cities are now jam-packed with so many people who haven’t had a single family member who has actually worked in five generations, and illegals who expect Uncle Sam to also foot their bills and crime sprees, things have deteriorated to third world levels of filth and malfeasance. As designed.

But please, just throw more money into the hands of the people who caused this, and into the grubby hands of their tools and stooges who commit the crimes.

I live in Indianapolis.

Us city folks actually get less money back from the state than we pay in, particularly for things like road construction and other infrastructure. The city then has to underfund some areas to make ends meet, so that the tax revenue from the major metropolitan area can help fund projects out in the sticks, where they have a smaller tax base. Then, the country folk thumb their noses at us "city folk" and talk about crime in a city they never visit.

I can't say if that's the case in other states like Illinois, but the rural drain of money here is a real problem. If only those rural folks could carry their own weight for once, maybe we'd have more local tax revenue available for law enforcement.

The Raby High School in Chicago - with a 60% graduation rate and an average ACT of 16, average SAT of 870 - spends $46k per year per student.

For reference, looking at rankings of the best private schools in Chicago itself (not just the Chicago area), the British International School of Chicago (South Loop) has no year of tuition above $43k. And their average ACT is 30, SAT is 1380. Even compare Chicago public schools to normal suburban public schools and I can guarantee you the suburban ones spend much less and get far better results. Public education in cities is a complete failure. Why do we keep throwing money at it?
