As it relates to general public interest in this run, WG insta is registering under 5% engagement. I'm not sure that anyone beyond the general fan boy population cares.
You're not wrong, but I don't like grifters, particularly arrogant ones who are making a mockery of my sport. This guy has repeatedly refused to do the bare minimum to address legitimate concerns about his HR anomalies, even when doing so would put an immediate end to threads like this one. I'll gladly do my small part to undermine his credibility with the few people who DO follow his exploits and donate the money he uses to enjoy his apparently lavish lifestyle.

At this point he's raised $373 USD, $2600 AUD and $520 GBP, so the ones getting fleeced are the corporations who sponsor. The runfluencer game is not sustainable long term. Eventually the well dries up.

The companies that sponsor him are doing great with the advertising. I see many young people out running in London wearing the brands that Goodge is modelling. And I'd never heard of them before his Transcon run

Ineos is a 15 BN euro company. You have never heard of them before WG?

This is obviously good to see, but I'd prefer see him not to able raise the funds to do these things at all, and that would require his sponsors also losing interest on him. For this to happen, his credibility will need to suffer a little more.

I was referring to Puresport and Represent, that seem to be growing brands.
Are Nucalm still a growing brand? Haven't heard anything about them in a while. Funny how Goodge isn't using them anymore, even though Nucalm was supposedly the reason he turned into a world class athlete every day after his rest during the US Transcon.
Somebody is going to have to explain how an average ultra runner is able to blow away one of the top transcon performances ever at a heart rate of 105-110

...who always shows a normal HR (while usually going MUCH slower) in actual competitions.

What if I showed will cocker my complete amateur kinda fast brother in law’s HR being in the 110s on 9:00 min/mile runs when he’s in shape? Goodge is running slow as shiz. Clearly man hasn’t sleuthed enough strava data throughout his life. The HR argument is just so weak for these slow asf paces.

Fun read overall, who doesn’t love a good record-attempt controversy, especially from an influencer? I don’t have an opinion either way, but I did take my Coros watch off and hit “broadcast HR” and it immediately started reading in the 50’s. I shook it at a cadence that would approximate running and it went up into the 80’s pretty quick. This means you could easily run with it in your pack or pocket and pass it to someone else and it would still read the same numbers. I have no idea if the dude is cheating but just an interesting observation about Coros watches. The whole situation is pretty comical because Goodge could quite easily just post a couple second clip of him during his run showing his HR but instead he prefers to troll everyone. I hope the truth comes out one way or another, seems like it shouldn’t be all that hard to put this all to rest.

There's a huge difference between running slowly for a few miles, and running slowly for a few thousand miles! People that equate the two clearly know nothing about multiday running and their opinions are worthless.
Interesting theory. Surely he would not be cheating, he’s made the call publicly, has sponsors and even friends there. The HR thing is odd though.. If you’re wondering at all just contact a few of the hundreds of trucks that pass that road every day as adhoc observers. You’ll probably just find it’s him running along no problems.
The pace chart from the latest run seems very anomalous. I'd estimate that 80% of the run is at exactly 10:44/mi or 11:40/mi.
This is consistent with day 11 and to some extent day 10 (although there is slightly more variation with the pace data on this day)
At times, over 3 miles stretches are run at exactly the same pace to the second. Eg today between 11.03miles and 14.47miles is a flat line at exactly 9:56/mi. Usually the GPS data would show some variation in pace in this time.
I should warn anyone who hasn't seen the Strava comments that if you go there, you will lose 5 IQ points per post from his supporters. I left thinking Rossi was sandbagging and actually could have run 2:11.

Yeah, if we didn't already know, it's quite clear that people who worship and believe influencers are intellectually challenged to say the least.
