The attendance at worlds last year was about as bad. Eugene will never ever be able to draw a crowd again. It's a cool stadium. But it sounds like a terrible place to travel to (probably an awesome place to live).
Attendance at worlds last year was 146,000, so nope.
OMG. This empty stadium is a humiliation . Paris trials need to be moved.
Like any other US city could muster a better crowd on a Friday evening in July. What fantasy world do you live in?
For a distance oriented event, yes Eugene. For an all-around Track and Field meet, Los Angeles (and I have a strong dislike for Los Angeles). Gotta call it like it is.

Do you genuinely think that Eugene, Oregon - of every city in the US - represents the peak of asses in seats potential?
Well, we’ve seen stadiums full in the Diamond League. Is Europe such a rabidly fanatical track mecca - or is it an easily available cool thing to go to?
If I had to guess, I would posit these cities could do it: Chicago, Washington Dc, Boston, Indianapolis, Columbus, Charlotte, Buffalo, Cleveland, New York, etc etc
