The girl with the 17th fastest time makes finals while the girl with the 8th fastest time does not. That makes absolutely zero sense in this context.

Idk, they always catch them.. but This is a big lead and she’s pretty good. I’d be nervous if I was another coach of a runner in the pack that was trying to win
That being said, I didn't realize the front runner had run within 7 seconds of the NCAA lead this year. I just thought "Someone who is 91st in xc isn't winning the 10,000."
