The real issue next summer won’t be lodging (many athletes and all officials and many others being put into dorms) rather restaurants to handle the demand for food for post meet sessions. Meet better provide dozens of food options at the area outside the stadium or it will be a complete cluster. Local meet organizers also need to inform area food providers of the schedule and the need for places to stay open late. Always a problem in Eugene but nothing this scale ever held with 30,000 fans a day.
There won't be 30,000 people there per day. Oregon needs to do a serious rehab of their international image. It's bad enough here in the US with networks spinning things for political reasons, but other countries simply report the bad stuff that happens here and what they saw of Oregon looked like a warzone as it was presented to them. When there are fires in California, I have relatives over seas that call in a panic because they think the entire state is on fire. Worlds will be empty unless there is a major change in the coronavirus status and the image of Oregon and the entire USA for that matter.
How can Eugene accommodate 30,000 visitors in this short space of time? Are people expected to camp out in the street? The woods?
