Centro did too much running in lanes 2 and 3 to hold off hocker. However the big thing of course was getting in. May even be a blessing to have the input of knowing he got beat — will focus his and Jerry’s mind in what to do better in the coming weeks.

They are pretty much nil. USATF has said they will take the top 3 from Trials if they are qualified by standard or World Rankings. Hocker is already ranked high enough before today and will move up a lot after this. No chance Hocker doesn't go.

According to rojo and wejo, Centro should have pushed Hocker in a straight line out to lane 4.
Any idea how much the silencing motion cost Hocker? 0.08 seems like a lot.

I’ve been a fan for a while, and seems like such a humble individual who loves his team.
I think he could have won but seems like he was just smart and made sure he made the team.

There is the world ranking, and it seems like he will get it per what everyone else is saying but who knows …

Hocker does NOT NEED THE STANDARD BECAUSE HE HAS A HIGH ENOUGH WORLD RANKING HE IS GOING TO THE OLYMPICS 100%. It's actually mind-boggling that people are still asking this question. It has been discussed on the boards for weeks now, even this thread has the information in it.

Yes. They take people in the order they finished at the Trials. So if Hocker is not on the list, they go to Engels, who is the next highest finisher.

In fairness, under the USATF's selection rules, now that the Trials are over, whether Hocker is on the WA Qualified Athletes list is the standard.
