No, he doesn't. The only thing broken is his psyche after being demolished in the final. But floating a bogus sore foot excuse would be convenient.

And what's your excuse for why he ran 1:48 and finished 19th in the prelims in the 2016 trials? The dude just had a bad race like he did then, to which he admitted, and choked again. It's mental, has nothing to do with his foot.
H
The armchair psychologists on this thread are really stupid.
Yes, I would be crushed if I was Brazier: he was the favorite, and if he was healthy everyone picked him as the favorite for gold, which had he won, would probably be worth a million or more in endorsements.
Brazier is a class act. Until proven otherwise I believe Brazier has some sort of foot injury and just ran with it till it blew.
Brazier choked. I’ve seen it before. He has so much pressure on him , he just couldn’t deal with it. He planned for this race 5 yrs. All the hype , media, the fishing to get away from all the pressure got to him. I could feel it. He gave up once passed , and you feel him just deflate. He’s going to have live with that for the rest of his life and that’s going to be a killer. I’ve seen many like him turn to alcohol and drugs, let’s hope he doesn’t. Best he just disappears and hang up his running shoes because there won’t be another chance.
There is no shot a guy this good and dominant runs so bad if not for an injury. Yes, he was wincing for most of the final 150, looking down at his feet. What is this silly dichotomy between his mental game and his body? He is as good as it gets. His foot broke or something. The dude tried to die on his sword by saying he should have overcome this, but anyone who has ever suffered an injury during a race knows there is no way one can simply soldier on and win it.
Lol. Yes, his foot fell off. His leg cracked in two. All blood vessels in his legs bust simultaneously...What else?
In my opinion, if Brazier were healthy and in shape there is no way Jewett's pace would be too fast for him.
I think it just came down to poor race tactics. He mentioned that he didn't have a race plan in the post race interview and that maybe he came in too confident. Even world class runners need to have a race plan.
Also, he wasn't racing 1:45/146 guys where he can make up for poor race tactics with superior talent. Murphy and Jewett ran 1:43s! He let Jewett create a big gap early in the race. You can see Donovan pushing really hard between 350 and 600m into the race. You get one big move in an 800. I think he used his too early (by his own admission).
tough loss, but a good lesson. i have lots of respect at how he handle defeat.
Not understanding why the FACT he was injured seems so far fetched to 98% of the posters on here? UFOs, yep, election was stolen, yep, Brazier had an injury that contributed, nah.
A broken foot poster? The same foot that took Brazier through 600m split sub-77 seconds. Was Brazier's foot broken then?
If he had an injury, why would he do the nbc promo piece and let them pump him up, knowing his chances were slim in the final?
Definitely only explanation is he gotta be injured.
Everybody wants to say- I couldn't win because of this or that, To my way of thinking, it doesn't matter if your goddamn head fell off or your legs exploded. If you didn't make it, you didn't make it. One excuse is as good as another.

Did you not watch his post race powwow? He made NO excuses.

Maybe because all injuries are not the same? I've has 2 stress fractures - there were times I could run on them pain free, other times decidedly not. Only my perspective, not claiming this was the exact injury.
Because we believe him and his coach. Some of you are okay calling them liars and incompetent.
His physical body looked different as well. Depleted/Running on Empty is the phrase I would use kind of like Suzy Favor in the Olympic Finals.

Not understanding why you are saying he was injured when he never said that himself.

Yeah maybe so, … but there’s a fvkc ton on this message board giving all kinds of excuses … who cares. I didn’t need to watch the post race anything .. he lost.
