St. Petersburg's Internet Research Agency. There was definitely paid Russian troll activity on this thread (and its predecessor) in the few months after the Russian invasion -- posters who appeared out of nowhere, weird syntax and grammar, posts that showed evidence of being verbally recited, posts going off on unprovoked tangents/non-sequiturs about Russian military might, drive-bys that never respond, repeating various pro-Russia points under different names, etc.

I haven't seen any obvious paid Russian trolls in awhile, although that Defcon[#] guy is always very suspect.

The Internet Research Agency must be congratulating themselves at how well they have played guys like NewUnkleCarmine, Lolly, Wigins into working for free.

So, checking the map, it looks like none of that happened. Bakhmut is still Ukraine. No fronts have collapsed. No major city has been lost.

Just a reminder, Bad W was also sure last spring that Kherson was securely Russian. It looks like his take on Russian strategic objectives have also been revised. Last May he was saying that the attack on Kiev (just a feint!) was to distract Ukraine so that Russia could take over Kherson. How'd that work out?

I think the vaunted Russian propaganda machine waved the white flag in the summer when they realized they were getting slaughtered by a unified Ukrainian enemy. The Russians are good at stewing divisiveness and nihilism in a place that is already divided. Kremlin messaging tends to just sound ridiculous when they are facing against an opponent that is willing to make a positive case for themselves.

The only people in the west that Russia prop seems to be reaching are the nut jobs that already believe in qanon and other silly antisemitic conspiracy theories. Hence, the collection of weirdos that are left posting pro-Putin nonsense in this thread.

Wigins-2600, made the following posts early in the Russian invasion:

March 18, 2022, page 6 - "the Ukrainian military is already strategically defeated"

March 19, 2022, page 12 - "The Ukrainian military is strategically defeated already and is being methodically dismantled. Man-portable missiles can't stop or significantly delay this."

March 31, 2022, page 70 - "Meanwhile the war is progressing just as I've said, mainly because I'm the only poster who knows how to find accurate information about it."

He posted even more idiotic stuff in another Russia thread (which is now unfortunately deleted) including that all the murdered Ukrainian civilians laying on the streets of Bucha (outside Kiev) that were videoed after the Russians retreated and fled the scene, were really just Ukrainian and NATO actors posing as dead civilians for a false flag American media operation intended to gather sympathy for Ukraine. Yes, he really is that batshift nuts.

He also posted in the previous thread, prior to the Russian invasion, that Russia would never attack Ukraine because Putin said they would not. According to Wigins, all media speculation that Russia would invade Ukraine was just American "psy-ops" propaganda. After Russia did invade Ukraine, he said Russia would only invade Donbas because Putin said so. Bad Wigins has shown a great belief that everything Putin says is true, while criticizing others for not consulting the undisclosed "primary" sources that he consults.

Needs to end, not just to save lives but to end this war for america. to help average americans not get further shafted by rich americans.

Billions sent to this bs? america has 4 times more homeless per capita than Russia and this will make even more homeless americans. more pentagon budget for its military industrial complex profits going to corporate america; profits that average americans NEVER see in their wages, which always stay WAY below inflation.

When this war ends, and america's LNG goal is more established, nobody will care at all that Russia has Donbas, like they didn't care about Crimea. america could care less about any of these eastern slavs. america doesn't care about its own people. As long as rich america gets theirs, which means LNG being sold to Europe from america. That means poor america will never get anything from america's LNG scam on Ukraine/Russia and Europe.

wages in america will not increase because america is selling its LNG to Europe. Universal healthcare will not start in america because rich americans are getting richer off LNG sales. weapons dumps to war zones and to NATO = same thing. average americans subsidizing weapons dumps will never change the lives of average americans in any meaningful financial way. It will only hurt them.

This all only hurts average americans, as every war and crisis now does. "war is good for the economy" "economy / american interests" are code for "rich people". Maybe 70 years ago it was better for average americans. not now.

And as long as you Fox/CNN sheeple stay distracted, you won't know why you can't pay rent or healthcare. Or why you filed bankruptcy, work 2 or 3 jobs, must live with friends/family, have little / no savings, or went homeless. Or you know people experiencing these things.
