People on this board would not believe that in the mid 90's Life University and Lubbock Christian (both NAIA) were as good as any school in college running. In fact Life University had a great track facility cut out of the woods with trails all around it. It was used in 1996 at the pre-Olympic training track for teams from all over world. Both Lubbock and Life were loaded with foreign runners and some American transfers, etc. Some legit talent.
There was a talent in the NJCAA and NAIA in the mid 80's to mid 90's. A lot of the NAIA schools went D2 in the mid 90's though. But both the NAIA and NJCAA had lots of foreign talent because it was easy to get visa's then and cheap, plus everyone was eligible.
