Russia had the option not to invade Ukraine. Russia should have factored the risk of NATO involvement into their decision to invade Ukraine.
Taking Russia out as an economic competitor is certainly advantageous to the US.
Ukraine are willing participates, and it will ensure their future independence.
Ultimately, it’s a win for Ukraine as they will become part of the EU and NATO and free from Russia’s autocratic tyranny.

Russia is not an economic competitor of the US. It is a hostile militarized nation. But not an economic competitor. In fact, the US would prefer that RU could be a swing producer of oil and gas to control price swings in either direction. The US and Europe have taken a hit here by cutting off RU, not benefitted.

Pretty sure US would have had an issue with Russia backing a violent overthrow of the Mexican govt by forces hostile to US

The Azov unit was founded in May 2014. The Maidan protests took place in February of 2014. Are you claiming that the Azov regiment is formed from CIA-funded, time-traveling, bioengineered supersoldiers? Or that you lack rudimentary knowledge of Ukraine?

Only the ones linked to Russia. For example, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine was not outlawed. Of course, Moscow Patriarch Kirill is Kremlin-linked, subhuman scum, that is promoting a “Russian world” ideology which seeks to destroy the distinctiveness of Ukraine in general, but also Ukrainian Christianity, in particular.
p.s. The Orthodox Church in Ukraine split in 2019, with one body seeking independence from Russia / Moscow and one remaining aligned with Russia / Moscow.
p.p.s. How many churches do you think Russia has destroyed in Ukraine in the last 10 months? If you really cared about the Orthodox Christian of Ukraine you would be calling for Russia’s immediate withdrawal. I bet you’re not doing that though.

Ukraine has not banned the Russian Orthodox Church. Zelensky did want to ban the church because its patriarch, Kirill, has openly endorsed the war against Ukraine and has gone as far as saying that anyone who dies in battle with Ukraine will have their sins absolved. Kirill is also embraced by Putin's regime for the narrative that the war against Ukraine is a war against a deviant society in Ukraine where LGBTQ people are tolerated, etc.
But in Ukraine, the Russian Orthodox Church was raided and UA authorities found lots of cash, pamphlets recruiting people to join Russian armed forces and several Russian citizens who had no real connection with the church. Thus, the Russian Orthodox Church is not at all neutral and has taken concrete steps in support of the war.
