In his latest tweet and insta post coach Roche outlines how he did "150 grams of carbs per hour for the first 10 hours at Leadville."
And that this was "dialing it back" from Western States...but later in an Instagram comment he mentions he only did 120grams of carbs per hour at Western States
Then perhaps most importantly he writes:
"4: bacon cheeseburger dinners in the 5 days before the race (and on the 5th day, he ate a $22 plate of enchiladas)"
"he ate..." um, did The Feed marketing team or Dr. Megs actually write this first and then Daivd forgot to change the "he" to "I"? Why the change from 1st and 3rd person?
I don't care if his enchilada dinner cost $22 he was doing like $200+ worth of gels and THE FEED products! These people are not price sensitive.
But something about this doesn't all sit right. Little 135lb David averaged 150grams of carbs up and over Hope Pass? Anybody have eyes on the ground at Leadville like specifically at the Winfield aid station to see how much he was actually carrying and taking with him? Also to make sure he was mixing that "1.5 x 0.5 L per hour with 1.25x concentrated Skratch" every hour solo?
It seems like the extra weight of all those gels up and over Hope Pass without a pacer or mule would be significant.
Does the aid station on top of Hope Pass even have SiS beta fuel gels?
I'm just saying all his claims seem to be a bit far fetched and maybe exaggerated from reality. Most of his idiotic followers and supporters are more concerned about the color of his shorts than the fact that he took Maurten Bicarb before the race and had a nose strip on
But remember: Dr. Meg "predicted" his finishing time before the race started to within 30 seconds of his actual time. THE SPREADSHEET NEVER LIES AND LOVE WINS! huuzzah?
