Turns out the fatality rate of Covid for those under the age of 70 was less than 0.1%.
In reality, I'm a pharmacy student. I'm easily the most qualified person on these boards to be assessing vaccine safety and effectiveness. It's obvious to me that it passes both with flying colors.
I have never said i was a physician. i think any, even implicit, appeal to authority on these boards does nothing but make my situation worse. I will say that i am not a an infectious disease specialist or epidemiologist, so there are those with more specialized knowledge than me. On the other hand, almost none of the doctors against the vaccines have these qualifications either.
The one notable exception is John Ionnaidis, most famous for writing “ why most publish research findings are false.” His arguments about mortality rates had issues but the extent to which excess deaths followed Covid deaths which followed covid positives, all matching over time and space really provided the death blow.
The article isn’t wrong, of course. However, it doesn’t really address how medical research actually develops and is interpreted by the most responsible parties. It is notable that the issues of isolating true positives are a challenge based on simple math even if researchers aren't biased.
The article that more accurately describes how medical research is properly handled is “why most published research findings are false, but a little replication helps”

This statement is what a student sounds like. Taking a few courses doesn’t make you the most qualified, so slow down the self congratulations. Once you start working in your field, you’ll develop a more nuanced understanding of how much there is for you to learn. In our medical school graduation ceremony, the dean of our school said, ‘you’re now our colleagues… but remember that about 50% of what you learned here is wrong. Dedicate the rest of your career to finding out which half is which’.

I take full responsibility for using effects when I should have used affects. I didn't spell a word incorrectly though, just used the wrong one. Us anti vaxxers have more integrity and don't double down and deny we made a mistake. I wish I could say the same for Judgement Bro.
