Here's my prognostication:
If charges are dropped Mike continues to threaten to kill those he considers enemies.

He will never come clean, he is too cowardly. He will lose all that he has to save that race he never ran, the 2014 Via Marathon. No sane person who did not cheat would go down this road.
Cheater Mike Rossi, self before all others. No "daddy" would ever do this, family would come first. Love would come first. Pride, false as it is, would not come first.
Tragedy can only be his destiny, given the precedent of his actions. There is no way to reach him, we can only hope others can be protected from him even if they cannot help themselves.
