I guess. Let it go.
Eastern University - Need 20 recruits annually

Thanks. I went back and found it. You think 20 is allot? I'd rather there be no quota but it comes with small private school territory.
What happened to Falvo?

No, I don't think 20 is a lot given that it is spread over the entire XC/Track & Field program. I also see they expect a combined program roster of 90 kids.
I shared the number (20) as I thought it was clear that expectations were spelled out. I'm no D3 expert - is this typical for D3 coaches to have annual recruit target numbers and roster size numbers spelled out in the job description/contract?
90 would be a very large number if they don’t have a track. I resent programs that only want to boost admissions, Especially when they can’t be managed properly . The athletes have to have the ability to train and have a positive experience.
Anyone confirm or deny Weir to Mizzou?
I don't recall ever seeing it spelled out in a job description. As far as in the post searching for coaching candidates. Where I've been before, after the hire was made, the AD provided specific roster expectations. This was D2.

Sounds like my first coaching job. I felt like I worked more for admissions than the athletic department. Sadly, this maybe the only way athletics survives at the smaller schools now. I guess that is why you are starting to see JV baseball teams at many Universities (big #'s 75+ baseball players mostly walk-ons) Look to start seeing JV teams in other sports to justify their existence. XC-Track much more different, tough to get kids to walk onto those teams at the smaller schools.
Hard to disagree. The upside, it really shows what a coach is made of as far as getting things done. You become very creative in your training due to lack of facilities. Also, since numbers are the game, you learn to treat everyone right because you can't afford people leaving or having your program badmouthed. Once you're out of that type of situation and go where it's production based, with facilities, it's a huge relief. You have a deep appreciation for all the little things.

Previous HC was just hired last year, after previous coach was canned, what happened now? Looks like his name has been wiped clean from their website.

You need new sources
Eastern doesn’t even have a track. Why are we talking about them?

Do you think they are the only school without a track?
That’s exactly why we’re talking about it
