It has been a feedback loop situation on the right for decades. Instead of offering and implementing sound policies, Republicans gaslight and target those who are emotionally vulnerable and conservatively inclined. Those people in turn expect results and are given scapegoats and boogeymen instead. When the party feels the pressure to deliver they one-up the previous wave of crazy and turn their base on the libs even more. Results that improve the lives of their base is no longer relevant, only defeat of the libs. That's all the GQP can sell now. And since they sense the base is ever more blood thirsty, they will continue to trample democracy in the name of owning the libs. Trump was just a symptom turned cult of personality.
The other element at play is the right's deep and long emotional investment in crazy. They went too far and can't even fathom backing out of their positions now. It is much more convenient to latch on to scapegoats and keep doubling down than to face the truth.
The only message the GQP is getting is that they need to feed more trump to the base. The only message the base is getting is that they actually won and those evil libs have stolen their country. The key here is that there are no outside influencers -- they only reinforce each other. It's really a doomed situation.
For comparison, after WWII most Germans surely didn't see the light immediately. It didn't matter how many new facts they learned about the atrocities, or that their former leader's decisions (with their support) led to the destruction of much of their country and countless dead and wounded Germans. But they had to deal with the whole world blaming them for everything. That blame was inescapable. As a defeated but new country, the only choice they had was to own it. Logic prevailed, with the help of lots of shaming of those who refused to back down from their wrong positions.
Trump lost, but most of the supporters remain stuck deep in the echo chamber. They only see the reality that is fed to them. There is too much money and power in it for FOX and Rs to let this go to waste. The right can avoid being reminded that they lost and that the little experiment of trump playing leader of the free world went terribly wrong. Not much will materially change their sentiment.
