Gonna make a declaration...
Once Trump is sworn in, I will not post on Letsrun again until he is out of office...either because his term is over and he actually leaves office, or because he dies in office...so potentially for 4 years...longer if he manages to stay in office beyond his elected term...small chance of that, but it's not zero. There will be no exception to this rule.
Why?
1) Not interested in MAAGA nonsense, and I can avoid a ton of it simply by not spending my time here. I've spent the last several years thinking "That Trump supporter CAN'T actually be that stupid," only to finally have learned that yes, they can be and are. No need to have that continually confirmed to me in Trump's next term. I've really only been posting mostly in political threads and the Dow thread; the former is where the Trumpers hang out, and the latter doesn't interest me as much as it once did because I already have more than I need...also, it does kind of make me sad that mostly no one there invests in the way that they should. Oddly enough, Sally talks the right talk (but he's the only one)...I just hope he has invested enough along the way.
2) Spending a ton of time fishing and playing music in my retirement anyway, so I actually do have better things to do.
3) I am a near perfect person. Athletically, musically, morally, fiscally, comically, and intellectually superior to the vast majority of all humans and pretty much all who post here. My one flaw is spending useless time here talking about Donald Trump. Rectifying that.
Why tell you this now? Because I don't run from criticism. I'll give you time to call me a coward or a loser or a moron or a blowhard or whatever else you like, and I'll give you the satisfaction that I will read it before I actually stay away from Letsrun. Makes no difference to me. We're entering a 4-year period of time of pure lunacy, and I'm going to keep my distance from that lunacy by fishing and playing music.
So, in all sincerity, good luck to you all in all that you do. I wish peace and prosperity upon you all. I will still post until Trump is sworn in, and then not again until the next US President is sworn in, and I'll plan to do it ON THAT DAY if at all possible.
PS: And no, I have never made such a declaration of leaving Letsrun permanently or for a set period of time before, despite what someone out there says once in a while. This is the first time. I do not lie, so you know that what I say is the truth.
