I live in a very blue city / blue state with sky high taxes (not as bad as Cali or NY but close). Yet public services are abysmal. It’s a welfare paradise though
Regardless
The Presidents job is to help all people in crisis. Not sit on the sh!tter and call people childish names on social media. And to claim you are right. (He wasn’t)
Trump is a horrific combination of stupid, sociopathic narcissism and the nation is going to suffer incredibly because his pathology is way worse today than 8 years ago.
Exactly! Trump and Fox News have successfully demonized California to the mouth breathers as being another country and an enemy that must be destroyed. We are all Americans. You know The United States of America. Heard of that?
The guy isn’t even President yet and he is sh!tposting on his broke social media attacking the state and governor during a crisis trying to politicize people suffering.
Trump is definitely top 3 most loathsome people in history. If you thought his first term was an embarrassing disaster you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Interesting. I guess that a criminal autocrat wanna be running the whole country ought to help with that, eh?
(and did he make a dent in it in his last 4 year go-around?)

What city
It hasn’t had a Republican mayor since the late 1960s (1967).
For whatever reason, that story makes me wonder: If you asked those who have studied democracies imploding, is ours going faster, slower, or the same as average? Because holy hell, it sure does FEEL awfully fast.
I feel like the word of the decade/century for America should be "latent." Trump has come along and released and shown us all the massive, massive latent shortcomings of our citizenry. It was there all along. We hadn't gotten that much better. All those rural people who devotedly flew their flags didn't REALLY believe in America. And all those apparently good parents didn't REALLY value honesty and decency. Etc., etc., etc.
Fascinating and horrible at the same time.
The citizenship is certainly to blame. No doubt.
But think about this for a moment.
Why was Trump permitted to run for a 2nd term? That is the fault of corrupt people in government. He should have been impeached twice and convicted twice. one time would have disqualified him. He incited an insurrection to overturn the last election which disqualified him from being on the ballot under several states constitution but his corrupt SCOTUS nixed that. His criminal indictments were all killed off for him. A Florida judge literally threw out his espionage case against judicial precedent. He was granted immunity in direct contradiction to the constitution that says a President could face criminal charges.
All of this fed perfectly into Trumps spin that they are all fake news witch hunts.
So if you are a low information voter that knows nothing you assume that Trumps narrative has to be true. After all, why is he allowed to run if these things were true?
It is time to shift blame from Trump voters to the many that did not do their job in government and kicked the can down the road.

I can do both. And everyone should.
Of course countless GOP Senators, Congressman, etc., etc., etc. deserve tons of negative credit for Trumpism. In fact, unfortunately, the easiest way to quantify it is those who DID do the right thing. Cheney, Kinzinger, Romney (MAYBE), and very, very few others. Sad.
“Germany and France warn Trump against use of force over Greenland” 1/8/25
America threatens to trigger NATO Article 5 !!!
Proud days.
And how does that work? Is whatever U.S. invasion force that's used AGAINST Greenland/Denmark matched by an EQUAL U.S. force to defend Greenland/Iceland ??
Trump plans to move fast with deporting criminal illegal aliens. If liberal mayors try to stop him, they should be prosecuted. History is on the president's side.

Sounds like REALLY tricky planning and ops !!!
I wonder if the U.S. staff at the various NATO HQs will need to be split in half? Half to plan attacks against NATO, and half to plan defenses against U.S. attacks on NATO??

I never appreciated how many people are clueless of Trumps criminality. They aren’t Trumpers. They are just super low information voters.
Tens of millions of people like this. And they just assumed Trump was okay because he was allowed to run for President. They figured surely our government wouldn’t allow Trump to run if he was a criminal.
Try to have a conversation with an average citizen about Trumps indictments or his impeachments and they will look at you like you are discussing quantum physics.
And they are right! Our government should have done its job.

You're really giving those people a pass for not knowing that Trump was a convicted felon on the day of the election?
Or, they knew he was, but somehow still being on the ballot meant.....what? He wasn't REALLY a felon because he was on the ballot?
Again, the answer is both. Loathsome/cowardly public officials/politicians, and a shamefully ignorant and/or unprincipled citizenry.
