Recently saw Natalie Portman in the Dior ad with Sia's Chandelier as soundtrack. But the lyrics are about shame, self-destructive behavior, and alcoholism. Not really inspirational at all.

Works of art, however, have a tendency to convey more meaning than the artist or artists consciously intended. In the finished work, there is often revealed shades of meaning, hidden motives, etc., of which the artist himself or herself was not consciously aware during its composition.

I'd say it's more about a relationship than about heroine. I think he just makes the reference to heroine to illustrate how low he's stooped.

I always interpret there response in the sense that during time of slavery only like 10% of people actually owned slaves in the south. So to disrespect and generalize all southerns is totally disrespectful.

But they obviously were okay with others owning slaves.

Just because not everyone one owned slaves, because not everyone could afford slaves or use them in their job, as not everyone was a plantation owner, doesn't mean that only 10% of people were complicit in defending and institutionalising slavery.

I would love to see what happened if someone tried to condemn all the Muslim world with this style of logic.
