Actually the lithuanian Alexandr Sorokin did, last year, run few minutes faster than Jureks best time. But he certainly isn't a nobody. Also I agree that it shows a great level of ignorance talking about Spartathlon not being competitive. Would be interesting seeing some of the more hyped US runners of today go for Spartathlon. It seems that there isn't much interest for races longer than the ~100 miles. Like the great divide between time based racing and distance events?

You don't know what you are talking about. Spartathlon is one of the most competitive ultras there are. Just to finish you have to run 153 miles within 36 hours. That's 4.25 mph!

Of the 39 top men previewed on irunfar, 25 dropped. That’s 64%. Overall there was “only” a 32% drop rate. Are all 25 of the top guys who dropped mental weaklings too? Or if it’s just Jim who is, why aren’t the other 24 mental weaklings also? I’m summary, you are an idiot who dislikes Jim. I’m sure you say stupid stuff no matter what you talk about, but this time it’s just you being stupid and how you dislike Jim.

Yes, we will call him out. He's 1 for 7 in major competition. He beat the record of a guy who's a former drug addict. Western States is not as competitive as people believe. Scott Jurek was a 2:38 marathoner.

What a stupid argument. Dick Beardsley only ran 31:05 for 10k.

I think Jurker only ran one marathon. If he focused on the event he could’ve probably improved that time, just like Beardsley and the 10K, based on how their fitness developed when they started focusing on longer distances.

It's the same two or three guys, saying the same things (1 for 6, 1 for 7, etc) that don't make sense over and over. It's a personality defect of the those guys to go on and on and basically troll a single person at every opportunity for years. I don't really care except it's annoying for the rest of us.

At least these runners have enough status to attract trolls! Sounds like they're doing alright ;)

We now that Jim Walmsley is a very good runner up to 50 miles and he won Western States 100 with a course record. And yes he won a lot of low key races.

But we also know that he did not finish a few 100 milers.

Jim is the best runner on Strava but at the end it does not matter. Getting to the finish line does. And Walmsley is not really good at that when it comes to 100 milers.

If I were a pro, I wouldn't have my training on Strava.

If I played pro poker, I'd wear sunglasses.

Note to self: Kilian Jornet (ESP) has not won UTMB since 2011.

7 years since he won UTMB.

Can't figure it out as a pro.
