Well, the Catholic Church is conspicuous in its opposition to IVF for several reasons including the destruction of so-called "surplus" embryos. Another reason for its opposition is the lack of the "marital" act, the sexual union, of the parents for the conception attempt. This act deepens the bond between the married couple helping to insure the most stable environment - a married heterosexual couple - for the newborn.

There are also folks adopting "snowflakes." No, not the snowflakes of safe-space notoriety, but snowflakes in extremely perilous conditions - embryos from artificial insemination put in deep freeze awaiting implantation that may never come.

I think you are overstating the percentage somewhat as there is a high rate of "recidivism" among those procuring abortions. A woman who procures an abortion often has more than one.

If instead of accepting mere identification in a group, e.g, self-identifying as Catholic, Baptist, Eastern Orthodox, etc., one takes frequency of church attendance or agreement with Church teaching as the relevant measure, those attending more frequently or in greater agreement tend to have fewer abortions. Do you think Catholic nuns and Orthodox nuns are having abortions at the same rate as women who profess no religion?

But to describe a unique human being at any stage in its development merely as a "bunch of cells" is ridiculous. Rarely is so little made of so much. I submit for your consideration that a living human embryo is more spectacular than the greatest work of human art... say the greatest work of Michelangelo, for example.
