I wonder if any Ct. boys coach has the balls to enter his entire Jv boys team as girls next year, if only to prove a point. One-offs can be bickered about and side stepped, but sweeping every event could not be ignored.

They put a boy in a girls race, Rojo complains that it isn't fair, and suddenly he's responsible for transgender suicides. Shazayam! Rojo has to shut up or carry the guilt of dead transgenders. That's how the PC crowd shuts down free debate.

We better learn how to fight back against this if we are to save girls/womens sports. It means fighting the PC goon squads, and they have been undefeated for quite a while now. Who has the guts to take them on? Will the Brojo's risk this web site to do it? Those are the stakes.

Once fascism takes hold it rules by terror, and it's very hard to fight back when everyone is scared to death.

Just a week ago a "Depression is Real" headline and sympathetic obituary for an athlete who took his own life was on the homepage of this site.

The attempted suicide rate in trans people is 41%. That is astonishingly high. One of the highest contributors to this is being seen as transgender or gender non-conforming. That is, if trans people are given the opportunities to conform with their own gender identities rather than being categorized differently (like competing with girls even if they are a biological boy), their suicide rates return to that of the general population.

What this says is, forcing biological males to compete with biological males in the interest of fairness might actually result in more kids killing themselves. Consider that for a second.

Other contributing factors to the suicide rate are internalized transphobia and rejection by friends and family. Essentially the responses encapsulated and perpetuated by a thread like this. So, letsrun, if you're serious that depression is real and you don't want to see people killing themselves, then maybe you should rethink your narrow-minded response to gender ambiguity.

Yes, our sport is important. Yes, biological males winning women's races is a threat to women's sports and the paradigm upon which our athletic competitions currently exist. But this is a very messy situation that has grave consequences if people don't recognize it's not as simple as they want it to be.

Being incredulous and self-righteous about this, calling it "common sense", and attacking those who are challenging gender norms is a seriously irresponsible and harmful approach.

Grow up. Think harder. Care more.

NCAA rules say that he has to be on therapy for 12 months before he can compete as a she.This means that he better start now so as a Jr she can be officially recruited as a she. What an injustice!

If you refer to a male as "she" as you did in your last post, you've accepted someone else's skewed reality. You have set yourself up to be required to get up and dance the way they want, and to have to change immediately if they decide to alter reality in another direction again. Inevitably, if you buy into this politically correct verbiage of using pronouns that can change any day for any reason, you've set yourself up logically to accept the perverse result - sacrificing any integrity in a great sport when it involves innocent teenage girls.

You've allowed the whims of a troubled child to spin you away from common sense. We have a female division for sports for a reason. You know that. Women and men are different. It's ridiculous that poster after poster has to point this out.

Rojo, one of the reasons I've respected your website has been your relentless determination to support a drug free sport, even when it's opened you up to severe criticism.

Drugs are not the answer to every problem. In this case, it is medical malpractice, educational malpractice and child abuse by parents to mess with a child's hormonal system just because you are unwilling to give guidance like grown ups used to.

I'm in my mid 50's now. A number of the brawny steroid monsters that were my age are now dead. Several of them are now disabled, both physically and mentally. Some have unusual cancers. When I started coaching in the 80's, there were some 400 pound benching throwers who had heart attacks..... in high school.

Put away the prescription pads and stop believing every problem has an answer in pharmaceuticals.

Act like responsible adults instead.

Well, the simple solution would be to have her run practice and not compete in the meets or run in the open division. If I was coaching her, I'd tell her I was proud of her for being true to herself but it's not fair to others and would let her do time trials.

Or have a category for XY division and then a category for everyone else and let her compete in that division. I'd say, "It's great that you are trying to compete with the men as a women. You are a modern day BIlly Jean King.

But I'm assuming that's no acceptable for her or her parents or the SJWs.

The rules are pretty straightforward on this at the NCAA level - one year of treatment. Not being a doctor, I'm not really sure if that's enough (I'd prefer you compete recreational or in the gender of your birth) but clearly what's going on here is absurd.

PS. I've changed the thread title as I do think the initial thread was insensitive. I think it would be very hard to change genders but don't think that she should simply be allowed to pick the gender of her sport in denial of basic biology.
