Is your mind really that small? is your sense of logic that undeveloped? Your unstated assumption is he turns 45 on or before April 21. Roughly a 30% chance of that.
You stated (assumed) facts that weren't found anywhere else in the thread.
Let's try this one:
A 44-year-old guy's birthday is April 22. Runs 3:20 this year. Therefore, he doesn't get to run Boston in 2014. If he ran 3:20 before September, he doesn't get into 2015 either. If he ran after mid-to-late September, he does get in 2015.
Your original post is possibly correct, but if and only if you assume unstated facts. Weak; even by LRC standards.
Now if 2014 qualifying opened in Sept of 2012. And goes until registration closes, which will be in Sept 2013...
What percentage of 45 year olds in that race will have run their qualifying race at age 44? Help me with the math, Steven Hawking.
