I think we've been spoiled with how well Bumbi has been running recently. He wasn't exactly a world beater in college. I think despite this race, he's over-achieved to this point which is awesome. He's going to continue to improve and maybe squeak out a few awesome races in the meantime. I mean, this kid has all kinds of talent to train with, problem is they're all more talented.

Maybe...Bumbalough did run 8:49 early his junior year, 4:06y, second at Footlocker while sick. He showed a ton of talent early. 1:53/4:06y/8:49 (junior...never raced competitively as a senior) is pretty damn good. I wonder if he might just thrive on a lower mileage training program, as he struggled a bit in college after running 8:01 for the 3000 early his true freshman year and hasn't totally clicked with Schumacher. I don't see much difference between he and Teg/Solinsky in terms of raw talent. Jager/Derrick/Fernandez on the other hand...
28:32.48 for Alistair Brownlee which should finally put to rest whether or not tri courses are really 10k - unless he had an awful race it's pretty clear that they are not. That's still a smoking fast time for a guy that reportedly doesn't train for running everyday.

Bad day for Kim Smith after running 15:16 in a road race in Boston only two weeks ago, beating Lineth Chepkuru and Werknesh Kidane.
Just checking the Flotrack predictions for this race.
They predicted...
(1) Kim Smith wins,
(2) Betsy Saina runs something huge.
(3) Hasay runs the "A".
I don't think their men's 10k predictions were any better.
