CENTRO 3:31

So ah Centro is at a 3:48 freakin MILE! With that wide fall away off the turn. He was moving way good at the end. I didn't like his tactics at OLympics. Don't know why they sent him tight up at the front. He never ran that way all year. Thought this was evidence again the way he hung back..like he did all year...except for the Olympics. IMHO

He's looking more and more like the real deal. Give him time to get some more international seasoning and he may just bring home a major championship one day. So far he has shown a mental toughness that most of our other American distance runners seems to lack.

trust me, i'm pretty much with you, but in this race, he's pulled nearly even with ~100m to go. in that last phase, he's not moving the quickest of the contenders. it could certainly be that he's fatigued from moving up as much as he did over the last lap.

that's why i said with the addition of a bit of strength. and given that he had abridged training, that will probably come.

The scary thing is that Alberto said that he is not working on his kick as much as Mo and Galen and that when he does his closing speed will be even better. Centro is the real deal.

Should Centro get a couple more races in this year, we could see more improvement in both PR and place. I'd love to see him PR and win.

Sorry, I don't have any insults, doping accusations or hateful statements to add today! (But I am happy to see Lance Armstrong called for doping...)

most definitely, and i'm also coming at this from apparent speed. when really big moves are made it's often that case of slowing down least. rare to see someone still accelerating as they approach the finish line.

i've been excited about this guy since i saw him take down new jersey legend craig forys in the outdoor nationals 2 mile.

again, when your form is that good/natural, speed's deceptive because it appears so easy i get the impression the runner could easily go faster.

Rupp is simply an everyday American, who is a class act, and a nice guy/kid, having a fortunate career and life. He's enthusiastic and a kind person, nice guy, THAT is his rep behind the scenes -- all the media people speak completely highly about him. (Watch the interview from Switzerland, see how he is treated respectfully, see how he speaks with perfect graciousness and respect).

Rupp is talked about with the utmost respect and admiration for what a nice guy he is.

noah ran the 1kwr, which going on history of 1/2 the previous 1k wrs upto snell also breaking the 800wr, indicates he woud be very fast at 800 - probably a 1'42 at worst - you can't run a 2'11 unless you have blistering 800 speed

he didn't bother with an 800 at all in '99, so your argument that if an athlete is quick at lower distance they inevitably run it is a nonsense
