Cannot argue with you there, wrongtown. I was there in 2004 when Webb could actually dictate a world class race, and it was packed and electric. Just shows you that Nike Money cannot buy Euro atmosphere.
Regarding A Duck's shot at me yesterday in my criticism of Webb for his depressing self analysis, I would only ask- Do you really want to see those videos? Is there anything POSITIVE you see in Webb's races recently, or his interviews (besides his new baby coming- great news)? What possible optimism can you take out of the Webb situaion or interview? DEPRESSING is a very, very apt word to describe things with Webb these days and I am sticking with that assessment. Since I read about 200 nasty tweets and messages on verious message boards, I guess there are a lot of "classless" track fans out there. Thanks for singling out an honest observation.

Those are tempory stands that have not fully been put in place for the Olympic Trials.
Tickets were not sold for, or planned to be sold, for those seats.
Nor where volunteers recruited, trained, scheduled for those seats.
Everything is as was planned, and as such, ahead of schedule for being in place for the Olympic Trials.
Des Moines, if you remember last year, will be a ghost town most days at the NCAA's.
If you care about this sport, Eugene is the best you are going to get, so better appreciate it.

I love watching UCR runners choke time after time when it really matters. I remember when Irv Ray had her drop one of her races to focus on just one, and didn't put honest faith and she couldn't run at all. D'oh!!!!!!
